“And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.” - Matthew 14:28-29 NKJV
by Joshua A. DeSousa
We always criticize Peter for falling into the water, but we never commend him for being bold enough to try. He was safe all along because the Lord was with Him, but He got distracted by the storm. It is very easy to allow our natural circumstances to hinder us from walking in faith by the instruction of our supernatural God. Your family, friends, society, and statistics tell you to stay in the boat of mediocrity, but you are called to live a life walking on water. What this means is that you have an assignment to live by faith, where there is not always a Plan B, C, or Z. It is not the most comfortable calling, but if you have to walk like this, the Lord trusts you with something rare that even the majority of believers cannot handle. You are called to live a miraculous life, where you breathe by the miracles God gives you every day. This way, you will be able to believe God to heal the sick, pay your bills, and even raise the dead! While eleven or more people in your life may stay corrupted by comfort, will you be the one that God can trust with uncommon faith? You will never know that you can walk on water until you step out of the boat, so break free from the boats of doubt and insecurity, because the God you serve will never let you drown!
